Life is Short. It’s Time To Live.
Recently, one of my good friends passed away unexpectedly. He was 41 and full of so much life. He was a hard worker who was promoted to a senior level position at his job a few months ago. He was a loving father, he loved to cook, travel, have fun, and play paint ball. He was someone who I could joke with and he always encouraged me.
These past few days I’ve been thinking about Marcus and life in general. I know it’s cliche to say, “life is short” but really it is. 2020 has been a challenging year with COVID-19, more senseless killings of our black brothers and sisters, and the upcoming election. However, while you are still among the living, it’s not too late to live your life. This is the time to do the things you love, spend time with the people you love (safely of course), and pursue your passion(s). If you’ve worked all year, it’s okay to take some time off. Please make it a priority to take care of your mind, body, and spirit. Be kind to people and most of all, be kind to yourself.
As I think about Marcus, I am comforted in knowing that he enjoyed the last moments of his life doing what he loved. And it’s a reminder that I need to do the same. Enjoy life and live it to the fullest.
